Climbing up 1200+ steps world famous, amazing Sigiriya Lion’s rock Fortress will give you an amazing achievement. Sigiriya was designated as a world heritage site in 1982. Sigiriya is famous for it’s palace ruins on top of a massive 200 meter high rock surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs and other structures. King Kashyapa chose the rock back in 477 AD to be his new capital.

Highlights of Pollonnaruwa

You will experience the second capital of Sri Lanka after the destruction of Anuradhapura in 993. You will see Brahmanic monuments built by the Cholas and the monumental ruins of the breath taking garden-city created by Parakramabahu I in the 12th century.

What is "Pidurangala Rock"?

The history of Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the rock temple are connected. According to historical accounts, monks visited the Pidurangala caverns about 2,500 years ago. A temple and a 12.5 m-long, lounging Buddha statue located in a cave act as evidence of that. It is considered to be the world's largest brick statue.

Day 5

  • Head to Kandy.

Things to Know about Temple of Tooth Relic

One of the  Precious Buddhist temple called Sri Dalada Maligawa, also called the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. It is situated within the Royal Palace Complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which also holds the Buddha's tooth relic.

DAY 07

  • Travel  to Beautifule Nuwara Eliya through the tea plantations, pausing to take in the most amazing views.

The Historical Landmark of Galle City 

Built initially by the Portuguese in 1588, Galle Fort is located in the Bay of Galle on Sri Lanka's southwest coast. The Dutch greatly strengthened the walls starting in 1649 and continued throughout the 17th century. This historical, archeological, and architectural landmark received significant renovation by Sri Lanka's archeological Department, which has kept it looking beautiful for over 432 years.
